Some of these are close to my own gripes with it, especially mandatory avatars. I'm a big fan of 2D pics as avatars since I can draw my own and quite against silly 3D approximations of my handsome, handsome face.

For what it's worth I definitely agree with the earlier sentiment.

Console wars don't mean anything when you're out of work, losing benefits, or taking pay cuts.

Ah, SCEE publishes. Shucks. I'd hoped it would at least visit PC. Ah well 2011 PS3 here comes me...

"Most games are designed to handle very repetitive tasks [shooting, driving, jumping, etc.], which doesn't really help when you want to deal with complex emotions. We need to change many of our paradigms if we want our art to evolve and become more than toys for kids."

That's the kind of thinking I like to see in gaming. If this is only on PS3 I'll surely have to buy one.

They did the Rebel Squadron series...which isn't my bag, personally.

As a matter of compassion, I'd want them to stay open for business. It's far more important that the people there have jobs to attend and employees are taken care of. But as a gamer, without playing anything standout from F5, I can't see any reason to have them stay around.

Totally disagree.

Exclusivity isn't some magic formula for better games. A point that's been reiterated many times juxtaposes the argument against the (comparatively) lukewarm receptions of games like Project Slypheed and Infinite Undiscovery, 360 exclusives. I think it's true that they pretty much show the exclusive argument to be largely erroneous. So the assumption that PS3 exclusive SE titles would somehow be any better sounds optimistic at best. Take also into account that b...

"1. There is only one game that is SE 360 exclusive and that's Infinite Undiscovery. Microsoft paid to get that game created. It was a collaboration. It was never planned to see the light of day on PS3."

Untrue. Project Slypheed, which was the first. Everyone forgets that game. Star Ocean 4 is also exclusive at this point.

For what it is, it's pretty fun.

I don't see how that's anything like RROD. RROD isn't something perpetrated by the customer, but an built-in flaw. This isn't a matter of irresponsibility on the consumer's part at all.

Sadly, Apple would rather posture than inform us. Why else would you have the "cool" Mac guy in casual and the corporate geek to represent PC? These popular commercials almost always accentuate Vista's flaws not Apple's strengths. They should take a page from the iPhone commercials.

Conversely, Vista's new better-late-than-never marketing does exactly the opposite. The commercials detail features of the platform from the end user's perspective.

"Why wouldn't you use the warranty?"

Your question was answered, I think sufficiently. But here goes me:

Your 360 is a great friend with great games. But something's wrong, you can tell.

Your 360 has cancer. Cancer called RROD.

Every time you power it on, it gets weaker. And eventually you have to send it in for treatment. But...there's no cure for cancer. It will happen again. But rather than suffer that heartbreak over and over,...

Money.

Blizzard will probably add some other reason in there too to make it seem more palatable, but it seems obvious they simply don't want us to play their game for free in any capacity. And they have that right. I don't personally agree, but hey, is what it is.

What sensationalism.

"More than 98 per cent of computer systems running Microsoft Windows are open to attack by hackers as they had one or more insecure software programs installed on their systems due to lack of latest version of software that fixed one or more vulnerabilities, according to Secunia, a Denmark based security supplier."

Not a big deal at all.

Just another reason for those inclined to reiterate how MS or Sony and everyone connected to them in any way has "failed" somehow. I don't mind 3 DVDs and I wouldn't mind the game on blu ray either.

Lonewolf, the Japanese didn't invent the concept of the RPG. Rather earlier RPGs were adapted from tabletop format into electronic games by the west. If anything, Squaresoft helped popularized the console RPG/JRPG once the Japanese began to dominate the gaming industry. But these are totally different from how we traditionally interpret RPGs in the west.

I don't disagree with you on Diablo. I think people call it an RPG because of how closely it resembles its roots (games like Du...

Doesn't quite match up with my top RPGs, but I'm glad they didn't only do JRPGs like some lists I've seen. No way would CT have made my #1 but it's pop so oh well. Would've liked to see Planescape: Torment somewhere in there. Much better written than most RPGs today, even Baldur's Gate.

Hahahaha.

Ok, maturity now. Going in, you have to expect the movie will suck. Kristen Kruek as Chun-li strikes me as odd, to say the least. Especially since I've never known the actress as the hard-as-nails-Interpol-detecti ve type. This would have worked so much better with Tekken because many characters are physically inspired by famous fighters and actors.

Who'd be complaining about Jackie Chan as Lei Wulong? Or Wesley Snipes as Raven? Or Gackt as Hwoarang? Ok I...
